Minor Flood Warning For The Gascoyne River

Significant flooding has occurred on properties in the Eastern Gascoyne on the Lyons and Gascoyne rivers upstream of Gascoyne Junction. Flood waters are making their way downstream west towards Gascoyne Junction before they will finally reach Carnarvon.
Peak flows from the Lyons and Gascoyne rivers have been observed and flow volume is reducing as it travels West.
Significant flooding is not expected between Gascoyne Junction to Carnarvon. See below for detailed forecasts and river peak times.

Gascoyne River to Jimba:
Minor flooding is likely along the Gascoyne River to Jimba.
A minor peak is likely in the Gascoyne River at Jimba early Tuesday evening.

Gascoyne River downstream of Jimba:
Minor flooding is likely along the Gascoyne River downstream of Jimba.
A minor peak is likely in the Gascoyne River at Fishy Pool Wednesday morning.

A below minor peak is likely in the Gascoyne River at Nine Mile Bridge Friday morning.

DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
