Minor Flood Warning For The Macintyre And Lower Weir Rivers

Minor flooding is close to a peak on the lower Weir River at Talwood during Tuesday afternoon whilst minor flood levels are occurring on the Macintyre River at Goondiwindi.
Rainfall totals of 25-35 mm were recorded locally from further showers and storms across the catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Tuesday.
No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

Macintyre River downstream of Holdfast:
River level rises are continuing in parts of the upper Macintyre River (NSW). River level rises are occurring along the Macintyre River downstream to Goondiwindi during Tuesday as floodwater from the upper catchment arrives.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla is currently at 3.93 metres and steady.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Tuesday. Renewed rises are possible on Wednesday as further upstream floodwater arrives.

The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi is currently at 4.23 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Tuesday. Further rises are possible as further upstream floodwater arrives but river levels are expected to remain below the moderate flood level (6.00 m).

Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South.
The Weir River at Talwood is currently at 3.36 metres and steady, with minor flooding. Further very small rises are possible during Tuesday as the river peaks.
The Weir River at Talwood is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) during Wednesday before easing slowly later in the week.
