Major Flood Warning For The Upper Balonne River And Moderate Flood Warning For The Lower Condamine River

A major flood peak is nearing Warkon on the Balonne River and will work its way downstream during the week.
Moderate flooding is expected to continue at Condamine Township on the Condamine River and Surat on the Balonne River during Tuesday.
No significant rainfall has been recorded in the past 24 hours or is expected over the next few days.

Condamine River downstream of Loudoun Bridge to Cotswold:
River levels continue to ease along the Condamine River to Chinchilla Weir with minor flood levels slowly falling at Loudoun Bridge. Downstream, moderate flooding is expected to continue at Condamine Township for most of Tuesday.
River height observations from Ranges Bridge station are unavailable however river levels are expected to be below the minor flood level (6.00 metres).

The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir is currently at 5.53 metres (below minor) and steady.

The Condamine River at Condamine Township peaked at 8.35 metres (major peak) around 09:15 pm Sunday 16 February and is currently at 7.40 metres and falling.
The river level at Condamine Township is likely to fall below the moderate flood level (7.00 m) Tuesday night.

Charleys Creek:
Creek levels along Charleys Creek at Chinchilla continue to ease.
Balonne River to Surat:
Major flooding is occurring along the Balonne River to Surat.
The Balonne River at Warkon is currently at 9.82 metres (major flooding) and rising.
The river level at Warkon is likely to peak around 10.20 metres Wednesday into Thursday.

The Balonne River at Surat is currently at 8.04 metres (moderate flooding) and rising.
The river level is likely to exceed the major flood level (9.00 m) and may peak around 9.30m later in the week. Peak predictions will be refined once Warkon has peaked.

Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam.
River levels at Warroo (automatic station) are currently 6.85 metres and rising.
The Balonne River at Warroo may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) later in the week.

Balonne River downstream of Beardmore Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring downstream of Beardmore Dam at Whyenbah and Hastings.
River height observations are not available for the manual station at St George however based on the automatic gauge it is expected to be below the minor flood level (6.00 metres).
The Balonne River at St George may exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) over the next few days.

No observations are available at Dirranbandi manual station, however river levels are expected to be below the minor flood level (4.00 metres).
River level rises are expected over the next few days as floodwaters arrive.
